Cinematic Descriptions
On The Last of Us Part II Remastered (2024), I managed a team that was in charge of mixing and mastering the game’s 4+ hours of cinematic descriptions. And as the game is very dynamic, each descriptive audio stem needed to get its own unique, hand-tuned mix instead of relying on batch processing. This was done both in DAW and in-engine, with the latter consisting of some lighter mix moves that carved space out for the cinematic descriptions.
